Fancy Footwork

Remember that time I made this New Year’s resolution? So…it’s not working out that well, as you can see. In an attempt to get back on track, I present to you my new shoes! Who doesn’t love shoes? shoesI picked up these puppies from Zara. They are amazing. I plan on wearing these with everything I own—dress pants, jeans, shorts, sweatpants. I’m pretty sure that’s normal.

Warmer Times

staywarm

We’re supposed to get a lot of snow this weekend, so I figured I’d reminisce back to warmer times. Like when I was in California, on the beach and sweating. In those days, the only white I saw was seagull poop. I miss it so.

In other news, I just got this sweater! Very exciting I know. I really like the gold embellishments. If you recall, I have been told that I have a slight obsession with anything gold. I prefer to call it a healthy addiction.

Bottoms Up: My Bar Cart

A few months ago I scored this cart at the thrift store for only $7. I instantly knew I wanted to use it as a bar cart and paint it gold. I’m going to be honest with you here, I have the uncontrollable desire to paint everything in gold, so it was no surprise. And who doesn’t want their alcohol on wheels? It can go with me anywhere in the house. That’s all anybody can ask for.

The cart was in pretty bad shape and with the help of my boyfriend (and by help, I mean he did almost everything), we were able to transform it into the lovely little bar cart below.

Below is what it looked like before I jazzed it all up with liquor and other such things. It had to be sand blasted to remove all the paint, then primed and spray painted gold. There are probably a lot of other details, but I can’t help you with that since I didn’t do most of it.

Feeling Fall

I was cold while I was getting ready for work other day. So I did what any normal person would do…I put a pair of leather pants on. That would be the obvious solution, right? What? You don’t do that?

I paired them with my leopard pumps, it’s like they were made for each other. Then, to top it all off, I wore what my sister calls my “old man” cardigan (according to her, only old men wear sweaters with reinforcement in the elbows). Old man cardigan goes really well with leather pants, in case you were wondering. It’s a nice balance and keeps my outfit from getting too crazy.

Wait, it gets better. My pants have zippers! Whoa! It’s very handy for when I’m trying to pull my pants off my body and they just want to stay there forever.

Here’s the whole look. I bet you’re wondering where I took those last two photos. In my bathroom? Don’t be ridiculous. Ok, fine. Yes, I did. I like to keep it classy for all of you.

The leather pants are from Zara, the pumps are from Target and the old man is from Gap (but they don’t seem to have it anymore).

Feeling Thrify

If there was an award for cheesiest titles to a blog post, I’d probably win. And I would be ecstatic, I might even cry fake tears of joy.

Anyway, on to the real reason of my post…I went to the Thrift Store on Monday and got some great finds that I had to share.

A chair. Isn’t it amazing. But wait, it gets even better. There was not only one, not only two, but THREE chairs that came together! THREE! I am sitting in one of them right now.

And, I also scored this blazer!

I got all these things (three chairs and a blazer) for under $20! I know, right? Amazing. It made my week.

Can I just tell you that it is very hard to take pictures of oneself. It was no easy task. I guess I could have asked someone to take it for me, but that’s no fun.

What do you think of the necklace I am wearing. I love it, but I have gotten  an array of responses. For example, when I bought it and showed it to my roommate, she told me I was crazy. So instantly, I liked it even better. Many others have told me they liked it. And you? Would you wear something like that?

Little Ladies

Last week, when I posted about my niece’s stripes, I promised to introduce you to my other niece, but I forgot.  So without further ado, here she is…

She’s already got style. She perfectly matched the color of the baby food on her face to the flower on her shirt. I’m taking all my fashion cues from her. Excuse me, I’m off to the store to get some yellow baby food to go with my shirt.

Cutest Stripes Everrrrrr

I’m not exaggerating. These are definitely the cutest stripes you will ever see. Well, that’s probable because it’s on one of the cutest little girls you will see (I say “one” because I have another niece and she is just as cute, you’ll see her later this week, don’t you worry. I’m not biased, by the way.)

Ready….awwwww. Told you so. I think stripes look super cute on kids. I also like the combination of blue stripes with an orange  shirt. It’s a nice contrast of colors.

If I was a good little blogger, I would tell you where the outfit is from. But I don’t know. Maybe my sister will be a gem and tell everyone in the comments. I’m going to bank on that.

Here begins the progression of my niece eating grass. Feel free to yell at my sister for allowing such a terrible thing in the comment section after she tells you where the clothing is from.

And, below I’m saving her from eating more grass. Aren’t I a good aunt? Oh, I guess I should give my sister credit for that photo.

I like this photo because you can see her little blond hairs. Too cute!

Guess what I’ll have photos of later this week? Fishing. That means things like gross worms, slimy fish, and dirty kids. Yay! Be sure to stop by!
