Keeping It Simple

I couldn’t help but buy a little something when I was at Terrain a few weekends ago. I fell in love with these mugs, with their organic and simple shape. They would make any drink look good.

One Pretty Place

Terrain

There’s nothing like a pretty place to give you inspiration. I was able to go to Terrain a few weekends ago and it was overflowing with rustic charm. I mean, just look at these chairs hanging on the barn. At my grandparents’ barn, the only thing hanging off the sides are cobwebs.

They have a cafe where you can get yummy food and drinks.

I want something in my house that is this green color.

We got to peek in one of the sheds where a wedding reception was going to be held later that night. I love the combination of the chairs and those tables.

If there is a Terrain near you, I highly recommend that you stop by.

A Quiet Place

I was looking back on some old photos that I took and I found this one below. It seems so peaceful and quiet. There is something about it that stills my thoughts. It’s crazy to think that a simple photo is capable of expressing so much.

A Look Into My Weekend

This is how my weekend looked. Ok, maybe it’s how it looked a few weekends ago, but better late than never, right?

weekendingI picked up this lovely blue chair at a used furniture store for only $30! What a steal! It looks very similar to the shape of this chair, but wayyy cheaper. Of course I had to jazz it up with a pillow and some fur. Then the next day, I got some serious rest and relaxation at the beach. I’d consider that a pretty successful weekend. In reality, I’d call any weekend at the beach successful.

How was your weekend? Any fun finds or adventures?

Produce Joy

I know I post pictures of flowers a lot on here, but they are just so pretty. Something about them is inspiring, and there are so many ways they can be grouped. I think I appreciate them even more because I know they are temporary and won’t last forever. They bring me such joy!

The Story of a Mirror

That title just draws you in, doesn’t it? Who doesn’t want to read about a mirror? My thoughts exactly. So here we go…

I went to some yard sales with my mom and sister a few weekends ago and found a round mirror for only 75 cents. Obviously, I was sold. You can’t beat a price like that. It needed some love, there were 3 stickers on the mirror and it was pretty dirty.

The stickers were easier to get off than I thought they would be. I just used some nail polish and scrubbed the mirror until my arms fell off. That may be a slight exaggeration, I still have both my arms.

Disregard my gross looking carpet. Oh, the joys of renting.

I thought it would be fun to add a pop of color to this mirror, so I decided to paint it yellow. My fiance sanded the edge of the mirror (the white part is just plastic). Look at him go!

Then, he taped it off and primed it. He’s a gem, isn’t he?

Finally, we spray painted it yellow. We didn’t tape to the very edge of the mirror, so we could paint the inside of the frame. Once we pulled the tape off, we just scraped the extra paint off the mirror with a razor. And tada! It was done! It lives in my bedroom now.

What do you think? Was my 75 cents worth it?

It’s About Time

I know this week was a short one, with Memorial Day and all, but I still couldn’t wait for the weekend. How about you? I’m in a wedding tomorrow, so it’ll be a busy next few days. I hope your weekend has time for some relaxing!

Get Going

Three day weekend! Woo hoooooo! That’s three days in a row of sleeping in! Can you tell I’m excited? Enjoy your weekend and let’s get going on the things that matter. For me, that would be sleep.

In case you were wondering, I took this photo on our recent road trip. We drove from Utah to the East coast. I think this was taken in Utah or Wyoming, I can’t remember which. Those were the only two states we drove through that weren’t totally flat. I started going crazy once we hit the flat states, so if you ask me about photos taken after this, I will have absolutely no idea.
